It provides symptomatic relief from abdominal pain, cramps, nonspecific diarrhea, and excessive flatulence. Additionally, Duspatalin helps alleviate gastrointestinal spasms associated with organic diseases, including diverticulitis, gastritis, duodenitis, esophagitis, cholecystitis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, peptic ulcers, gallbladder disorders, hiatus hernia, and inflammation within the gastrointestinal tract.
Detailed Uses of Duspatalin
Primarily, Duspatalin is designed to soothe the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, characterized by abdominal cramps, gas, bloating, and changes in bowel habits. It is also effective for various other conditions that involve spasms and discomfort in both the small and large intestines.
Description of Duspatalin
Each capsule contains 100 mg of Mebeverine Hydrochloride, complemented by a carefully selected blend of excipients. The capsule content (granules) includes magnesium stearate, polyacrylate dispersion (30%), talc, hypromellose, methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) dispersion (30%), and glycerol triacetate. The capsule shell is made from gelatin and titanium dioxide (E171), while the printing ink consists of shellac (E904), black iron oxide (E172), propylene glycol, concentrated ammonia solution, and potassium hydroxide.
Dosage of Duspatalin
For optimal results, adults should take 1 capsule twice daily?once in the morning and once in the evening.
Special Populations
No specific dosage adjustments are necessary for elderly patients or those with renal or hepatic impairments, as no posology studies exist for these groups. Current post-marketing data has not identified any particular risks.
Missed Dose
If a dose is missed, simply continue with the next scheduled dose. Do not take extra capsules to compensate for missed doses.
Administration Instructions
For best results, capsules should be taken whole with at least 100 mL of water. Do not chew the capsules, as their coating is specifically designed for sustained release.
Interactions with Duspatalin
No formal interaction studies have been conducted aside from those involving alcohol. Research indicates that Duspatalin does not adversely interact with ethanol, both in vitro and in vivo.
Incompatibilities
Currently, there are no known incompatibilities associated with Duspatalin.
Potential Side Effects of Duspatalin
While side effects are rare, some individuals may experience gastrointestinal disturbances, dizziness, headaches, insomnia, loss of appetite, or increased heart rate.
Contraindications for Duspatalin
