What is VIAGRA and How Does It Work?
VIAGRA, a leading phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, is designed to help men experiencing erectile dysfunction (impotence). Considerations Before Using VIAGRA

- You are using nitric oxide donors, such as amyl nitrite (poppers), due to similar risks involved.
- You have a known allergy to sildenafil or any other component of VIAGRA.
- You suffer from serious heart or liver issues.
- You have had a stroke or heart attack recently, or have low blood pressure.
- You have rare genetic eye disorders, including retinitis pigmentosa.
- You have previously experienced vision loss due to non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION).
Use VIAGRA with caution if:
- You have sickle cell anemia, leukemia, or multiple myeloma.
- You have any physical deformities of the penis or Peyronie?s Disease.
- You have existing heart conditions; your doctor should assess your heart health before engaging in sexual activities.
- You have current stomach ulcers or bleeding disorders like hemophilia.
If you notice a sudden decrease or loss of vision, discontinue use immediately and contact your doctor.
VIAGRA should not be combined with other oral or topical erectile dysfunction treatments.
Special Considerations for Children and Adolescents
VIAGRA is not recommended for individuals under the age of 18.
Patients with Kidney or Liver Issues
Inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver concerns, as a lower dosage may be necessary.
Interactions with Other Medications
Always disclose all medications you are currently taking, including over-the-counter drugs, to your healthcare provider. VIAGRA can interact with certain medications, particularly those prescribed for chest pain. In an emergency, inform any medical professional that you have recently taken VIAGRA and when your last dose was. Avoid combining VIAGRA with nitrates to prevent dangerously low blood pressure.
If you are on protease inhibitors for HIV, your doctor may suggest starting with the lowest dose of VIAGRA (25 mg).
Patients on alpha-blockers for high blood pressure or prostate enlargement may experience dizziness if used concurrently with VIAGRA. To mitigate these effects, stabilize your alpha-blocker dosage before starting VIAGRA and consider beginning with a lower dose of VIAGRA (25 mg).
How to Take VIAGRA
VIAGRA can be taken with or without food, but its effect may be delayed if taken with a heavy meal. Limit alcohol consumption as excessive drinking can hinder your ability to achieve an erection.
